About Me.My name is Emma Boone and I teach 8th grade science and math at Mountain Middle School, a Project-Based Learning school located in Durango, Colorado. I am originally from Philadelphia, and moved to Colorado in 2011 to attend college. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder. I received my teaching certificate in secondary education from Fort Lewis College, where I am currently pursuing my Master's in Education.
I initially discovered my love for teaching and pedagogy in my previous profession as a yoga teacher. While I still love teaching yoga, I consider myself extremely fortunate to now have the opportunity to share my passion for science and math through teaching. Outside of the classroom, I am a dedicated rock climber, yoga practitioner, aerial acrobatic enthusiast, poetry devotee, dog mother and crossword solver. Header Photo by Kris Ugarriza |
